"Diabetic Health and Your Body"

As many of you know I'm a diabetic since 2007. I like many other refused to believe I had this disease. I now know without action this disease can kill you...! So on Thursday's my site will be dedicated to helping those of you that have this disease. I will be getting with my son and he will be taking pictures of the food choices I now make!


 This is my journey along with you...I don't want to die been a  diabetic...my challenge to myself is to live the best life possible by been informed.....!


 I have a 100 pounds to lose and I will like to be fifty pound lighter by August....Safely! 


My bestie friend Sue, is getting married and I refuse to be heavy for her wedding...! So I will let you all  know about the super foods that I find out there for us to eat by following a regiment that's healthy! One super-food I'm hearing about is organic fax seed. We all know before adding or taking away from your diabetic food choice you must talk to your Doctor.....! I'm adding a recipe for today for my journey which include making my own breads and other foods. 


So as we stay healthy together I look forward to sharing blog information so you can stay on this journey with me...!  On Saturday I will be making this bread hopefully I will have some picture for you! 




A full flavored quick bread made with ripe bananas and raisins. Cereal adds extra crunch and beneficial nutrients. Equal reduces the calories but not the taste.



Banana Raisin Bread

cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium)
3 tablespoons 2% milk
1 1/2 cups Kellogg's® Special K® cereal
6 tablespoons stick butter or margarine, softened
1 cup Equal® Spoonful*
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup raisins
  1. Combine banana and milk in medium bowl. Stir in cereal. Let stand 5 minutes or until cereal is softened.
  2. Beat butter and Equal® on medium speed of electric mixer until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla until well blended. Stir in cereal mixture. Gradually add combined flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt mixing until combined. Stir in raisins.
  3. Spread batter evenly in sprayed 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Bake in preheated 350°F oven 45 to 50 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Cool completely on wire rack.
  4. Store tightly wrapped in plastic wrap.
Makes 14 servings.
* May substitute 24 packets Equal sweetener
